Painting!
Now, what is painting...Painting is the practice of applying paint, pigment or color, in a typical sense.
So we have commonly three types of genres that we can try :

1. Watercolor

From vibrating, light-filled passages to richly colored transparent darks, from cascading wet washes to dry brush effects, watercolors can produce painting effects which no other medium can match. In the hands of a Master, a rapidly executed watercolor thrills with its immediacy, energy and sheer boldness. What may appear simple in execution can take years to perfect. Yes, you need a lot of patience to paint with them. But you know what it's worth it.
As the name suggests you must let the water paint it.This is the only medium where the paint can flow and take its own form, beautifully winding into each other forming an ecstasy of colors on the paper.
Unexpected, free-flowing, transparent backgrounds can be achieved. But with watercolors, there is no mercy for the mistakes that have been committed.

2. Acrylics

Crisp edges, bold colors, smooth application, the only medium that gives a satisfying feeling, you got it right acrylics.
The crisp edges that can be achieved with acrylics can be hugely beneficial if you paint with a more graphic composition. You can mix clean, bright colors very easily.
You can paint on anything.
This is one of the key things that make acrylics a great medium to start with when beginning to learn to paint. To be able to set up quickly, start painting on anything is brilliant. Paper, card, canvas board, whatever you have at hand.

3. Oils

Oils are the king of the blending, because of the slow drying nature. The outstanding facility with which fusion of tones or color is achieved makes it unique among fluid painting mediums.

Opaque, transparent, and translucent painting all lie within its range, and it is unsurpassed for textural variation.
Oil paintings are brought to life by building layers.Because oil paints stay wet for a lot longer than acrylics it gives you the flexibility to start a painting and then come back to it the next day and continue straight where you left off, but having said that; It is very easy to mix ‘muddy colors’ when starting with oils due to everything staying wet on the canvas.

Hope this helps you guys in understanding the basic nature of paintings and decide for yourself which one you can start off with.
But reading it and experiencing it are way two different things.
So my suggestion what are you waiting for! Go pick up your brush now.
